All About LRCC

Mission Statement

LRCC Administration Staff 2010

LRCC provides sanctuaries in time and space where Christ can be encountered, faith renewed and the joy of community discovered. Our Lutheran outdoor ministry supplements congregational recreational outdoor ministry and camping for all ages and offers refreshing, faith-enriching retreat experiences by creating dynamic Christian community, rewarding educational opportunities and outdoor relaxation from the routine and hectic pace of life.

Why We exist

We offer Lutheran Christian Camping and retreat programs for all ages at our two main sites, El Camino Pines and Yolijwa, as well as off-site high adventure opportunities. Our ministry spans Southern California — from the mountains to the oceans, the deserts to the beaches and the wilderness to the cities.

Locations

El Camino Pines is located on the eastern edge of the Los Padres National Forest, at the base of Mt. Pinos. It is situated in a pristine, dense forest of pine and oak trees. El Camino Pines sits at an elevation of 6200 feet, halfway between Los Angeles and Bakersfield, 12 miles west of the famous Grapevine area of Interstate 5. We invite you to visit El Camino Pines, breathe our clean, cool air and enjoy all of our seasons of sunshine and snow. El Camino Pines is close enough to Southern California for a day trip, but far enough away to feel like a different world.

Yolijwa sits nearly a mile high on 40 sunny acres, nestled in majestic oak, pine and cedar of the San Bernardino Mountains. Located in the heart of the apple country of Oak Glen, Yolijwa offers a quiet sanctuary not far from the bustling Inland Empire. It is the home to Luther Glen Conference Center and a beautiful Prayer Labyrinth. We invite you to join us for a time and place apart, a chance for rest and renewal in God's Creation.
