Anthony Briggs
Executive Director
Anthony Briggs joined the staff of LRCC in January 2005. The summer of 2006 marked his 20 year in Outdoor Ministry for the Lutheran Church. He is originally from North Carolina but loves everything about Southern California….except the traffic! He loves most everything about his responsibilities as Executive Director for LRCC…except for writing his Bio for websites and such.
Pastor Glen Egertson
Camp Director, El Camino Pines and
Associate Director for LRCC
Glen is the proud father of four children and grandfather of two. He is a third generation Lutheran pastor. Before being ordained in 2001, Glen worked as a janitor, carpenter, philosopher (pro-bono), and psychotherapist. Glen is a graduate of the Lutheran Bible Institute, California Lutheran University (twice), and Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary. He enjoys woodworking, watching old movies and eating his dessert before dinner.
Lauri Egertson
Camp Director, El Camino Pines
Lauri is the proud mother of four children and grandmother of two. She was raised in San Diego, CA and joined the Catholic Church before becoming a Lutheran in 1980's. After completing a program in Nursing, Lauri worked as an Optician and Office Manager for several doctors while raising her family. She enjoys volunteering at her children's school and church, and is an avid scrapbooker.
Holly Saltonstall
Camp Director, Yolijwa
Holly is a LRCC Staff Alumni. She worked as summer counselor at El Camino Pines in 2002, and ended up spending three summers working with LRCC. Holly finished her Religon degree at CLU. She has spent three years in youth ministry in southern California and now is a welcome addition to the LRCC team (again!).
Jan Garris
Chief Financial Officer
Jan attended a women’s retreat at Camp Yolijwa in April 2008 and returned home from the weekend with an offer to become the LRCC CFO. Talk about the camp experience that never ends…Jan graduated from California Lutheran College (now University) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and became a CPA in the early 80s. After serving her dues in public accounting with Ernst & Whinney (now Young), she joined World Vision where she spent five years as Accounting and Budget Manager. Jan took a few years off to be a full time mother and has spent the past 10 years at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church and School in West Hills, CA; she currently serves as their Director of Finance and Administration as well as our CFO. She has been married for 26 years and has two sons.
Michelle Meulemans
Program Director, El Camino Pines
Michelle is a fun-loving girl originally from Wisconsin. For the past year she has been teaching Outdoor School at El Camino Pines. From 2006 to 2007 she traveled the West Coast of the United States with a youth ministry team called Captive Free. Prior to that she attended college in both Michigan and Wisconsin and pursued a degree in Theater Education. Michelle also completed an internship at Walt Disney World. She loves hanging out with kids, musical theater and playing outside.
Josiah Canto
Assistant Program Director, El Camino Pines
Josiah Canto started with LRCC as a 16 year old “Staff in Training” back in 2003. He worked the following 2 years as a Summer Counselor before joining the year round staff at El Camino Pines in 2005. Josiah was born in Flagstaff Arizona and traveled during his childhood with his parents who were Missionaries. He lived in several different provinces in China for 5 years and spent 1 year in Indonesia. He enjoys musicals of any kind and composing his own sound tracks that the staff critique and pretend to enjoy. Josiah plans to continue his education at California Lutheran University when he can tear himself away from camp.
Desta Goehner
Executive Assistant, LRCC
Desta's name is an Ethiopian name, meaning happiness. Her mom lived in Ethiopia for a year and loved the name. Desta loves kids and camp. She grew up going to El Camino Pines as a kid and was a counselor for 3 summers in college. She is married to a Lutheran pastor since 1999, has 3 kids and drives a minivan. She graduated from California Lutheran University in 1996 where she was the mascot. Desta was a full time youth minister for 7 years and is now a Youth Ministry support person for the ELCA Southwest CA Synod. Desta spends her time at yoga and pilates classes, picking up toys, loves to cook and bake and is on the search for the perfect chocolate chip cookie recipe.
