You get it all at Beach Camp. Sleep at a local church, walk to the beach daily, hang out on the turf or in the surf and have all of the great camp program elements (campfires, worship, Bible Studies, silly songs and great camp food).

We have two amazing locations for our beach camp programs, each with their own sets of adventures!

Beach Camp is offered at two sites: Our Savior Lutheran, San Clemente, CA and Christ Lutheran, Pacific Beach, CA.

Cost: $365   (for campers currently in grades 6th – 12th)

  • Programs begin on Sunday between 3 and 4pm and conclude on Friday with a closing worship at 10am.
  • Lodging is on church floors w/open showers (bathing suits are a good idea!)
  • Meals are served at the church as well as packed out to be eaten on the beach!

There is a closing worship on Friday at 10am that parents and family are invited to attend.  Parents must pick up campers no later than 11 am on Friday. 

The camper's Health Form needs to be faxed or sent into Yolijwa at least two weeks prior to when the camper will be attending camp. Please allow time for a doctor visit as this form needs to be filled out by a doctor and the camper needs to have had a current physical in the past two years. We need a new Health Form every year for each camper.

 

Plan to Bring:

  • Offering money
  • Clothes suitable for beach wear (warm days and cool nights)
  • Shoes – hiking or tennis shoes, and sandals for beach wear
  • Sleeping bag and pillow – if your bag is very light, bring an extra blanket
  • SLEEPING MAT!!!
  • Bible, pencil/pen and notebook
  • Backpack (to carry stuff to the beach)
  • Hat
  • Waterproof watch
  • Waterbottle (label with your name!)
  • Personal items – soap, towels, toothbrush, etc.
  • Flashlight (optional)
  • Camera and film (optional)
  • Snack and souvenir money (optional)
  • Boogie board, surfboard, beach chair (optional)
  • Roller blades and helmet (optional)
  • Postcards or stationery and stamps (optional)
  • DON'T FORGET TO BRING SUNSCREEN!

When packing for camp, please bring only the essentials – travel light. Be sure to mark all items with the camper's name, as the camp is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please leave valuables at home.

General Guidelines:

  • The use or possession of tobacco products, alcohol, or any other illegal substance is strictly prohibited. Violation of this rule is cause for immediate dismissal from the Beach Camp program at the parent's expense.
  • Do not bring: Food, gum, electronic games, skateboards, skim boards, pocketknives, firearms, or fireworks, as we want to keep the beach clean and our campers safe.

Note: iPods, Personal Discmans, Walkmans are permitted at the counselor’s discretion and are the responsibility of the camper. LRCC is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Take the I-5 South to San Clemente
Exit at El Camino Real
Turn left and go under the freeway
Continue seven blocks to Ave. San Gabriel
Turn left and go up the hill to the stop sign
Turn right and we are there on your right

From San Diego County

Take the I-5 north to San Clemente
Exit at Magdalena then turn left on to El Camino Real
Continue one block to Ave. San Gabriel
Turn right and go up the hill to the stop sign

From southbound I-5:

Take Garnet/Balboa exit.
Turn right on Garnet to Cass Street (approximately 2.5 miles - streets listed alphabetically Olney - Cass).
Turn right on Cass Street, go 4 blocks. Second church on the right between Missouri St. and Chalcedony St.
For Parking lots: Turn right on Chalcedony St., lots on the left and right side of the street are for Christ Lutheran.

From Northbound I-5:

Take Grand Ave. exit.
Turn left on to Grand Ave. to Cass Street (approximately 2.5 miles - streets listed alphabetically Olney - Cass).
Turn right on Cass Street, go 6 blocks. Second church on the right between Missouri St. and Chalcedony St.
