Meet the Outdoor School Staff
We have a terrrific year round staff that is trained and here to serve you. They are full of energy and look forward to sharing their gifts!

Lauri Egertson
Camp Director, El Camino Pines
Lauri is the proud mother of four children and grandmother of three. She was raised in San Diego, CA and joined the Catholic Church before becoming a Lutheran in 1980's. After completing a program in Nursing, Lauri worked as an Optician and Office Manager for several doctors while raising her family. She enjoys reading just about anything, being outside in the mountains and scrapbooking with her daughter Shauna.

Matt
Program Director, El Camino Pines
Matt graduated California Lutheran University in 2010 with a B.A. in Communication. He was first introduced to LRCC 5 years ago when he came up to volunteer at a Winter Retreat where he fell in love with Outdoor Ministry. Matt enjoys sports, journalism, the outdoors and learning. He has a passion for camping and teaching and hopes to use his gifts to build the ministry of LRCC.

Erin
Executive Assistant
Erin is a proud 2009 graduate of St. Olaf College, where she majored in Religion and Political Science. She has worked for LRCC in different capacities since she was 17, and doesn’t ever want to stop being a camp counselor. She enjoys reading (especially young adult novels), singing, and being Lutheran. She is thankful for the opportunity to work in this great ministry before heading off to seminary sometime in the near future.

Amy
Outdoor School Instructor
Amy graduated from California Lutheran University with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Spanish and Art. Prior to working at camp she had an internship working with children with autism. She hopes to join the Peace Corps in the future. Amy enjoys anything and everything outdoors!

Brian
Outdoor School Instructor
Brian grew up in San Diego California. He is currently studying marriage and family counseling. He worked for LRCC for two summers as a camp counselor. This will be his first year of Outdoor School. Brian loves the outdoors and is excited to spend his time in nature. He likes rock climbing, hiking and the occasional Jumbo Jack.

Dan
Outdoor School Instructor
Dan is a graduate of California Lutheran University with a degree in Religion and Psychology. He first came to work at camp this last summer as a counselor. After a great summer he decided to join the Outdoor School Staff for the year. Dan enjoys mountain biking, scuba diving and drinking coffee.

Daniel
Outdoor School Instructor
Daniel has worked at camp since 2004 when he was a junior in high school. He graduated from California Lutheran University in 2009. He earned his teaching credential and worked as a substitute teacher before he decided he liked being at camp more. He returned this year to join the year round staff. Daniel loves California history, video games and reading.

Joan
Outdoor School Instructor
Joan has made the trek from Chicago to work at Outdoor School. She worked as a camp counselor at El Camino Pines back in 2006. She graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelors in Physical Education and a Masters in Port Administration. When she is not working at camp, Joan enjoys watching and playing sports, the Chicago Bears and giving high fives!

Kevin "Huck"
Outdoor School Instructor
Kevin, who goes by Huck has worked for LRCC for 4 summers. He is currently enrolled in school and is studying to become a high school teacher of Physics and Math. Huck’s hobbies are sports and working with most technology.
